Endgame Gear EM-C Gaming Mousepad Review: One Year Later

I’ve been using the Endgame Gear EM-C (EGG EM-C) for a year now, and I have to say, it’s been among one of my favorite pads! I mean just look at how long I’ve stuck to this thing, a full year and never once felt as if the mousepad was holding me back.

But now I’m planning to switch things up. Not because the EM-C let me down, but because I want to experience something new and create more reviews for you all.

The EGG EM-C comes in two sizes. That being, Large and X-Large. I’ve been rocking the Large, which I’m fine with because it has the same length as the X-Large, but only shorter in width. Still, it’s got plenty of room for big arm swings without feeling cramped. The XL is perfect if you want more height for vertical mouse movements.

Also worth noting that it only comes in black. No colors, no patterns, no limited editions (at least for now). Just a clean, all black gaming mousepad that blends in with most setups.

Packaging

What I really like the packaging of Endgame Gear EM-C’s mousepad is, unlike some big-name mousepads that come rolled up like a yoga mat, this one comes flat in a box. That’s a win right out of the gate.

When I pulled it out and placed it on my desk, it sat perfectly flat and there’s no annoying air bubbles or edges curling up. Just flat and ready to go. You get nothing extra in the box, just the mousepad itself.

Build & Design

Build Quality

The build is solid on the EM-C pad! It has aged extremely well over the past year I’ve used this thing. I haven’t noticed any drastic slow spots. There’s no signs of fraying either, thanks to the low-profile edge stitching. The EM-C uses what they call sub-surface stitching, which basically means the stitched edge sits below the surface of the pad, so you won’t feel it interfering while gaming.

I can’t help but also notice how the mousepad feels a bit flimsy when you pick it up. It feels thin, and unlike Artisan, Endgame Gear doesn’t offer you the option to choose your preferred thickness. It doesn’t bother me personally, but I can see how some people might prefer a thicker pad for extra cushion.

Surface

The surface is made of cloth and it definitely feels textured. It’s a little rough to the touch, but not like sandpaper-level or anything. It’s just enough to notice when you glide your forearm across it. It can feel a bit abrasive at first, but nothing too drastic. I got used to it pretty quickly when I got it, and it never really became a problem during long sessions.

Base

The EM-C base uses a Japanese Poron material, not your usual rubber and that’s a big plus. For those who don’t know, Poron is known for being extremely stable and grippy. You’ll find it a bit softer than standard rubber, but it sticks to your desk like glue and absorbs pressure really well. No unwanted movement during flicks or swipes.

Performance & Glide

I’d call the EM-C a balanced control pad. It’s the kind of surface that could honestly work for any game. Whether you’re flicking in CS2, tracking in Apex, or holding angles, it works well. It’s not one of those pads that locks you into a specific playstyle.

It’s got control out of the box, but it’s also not muddy slow. The glide offers a great balance with low static friction and high dynamic friction. This makes micro-adjustments smoother compared to something with high static friction, where you’d typically feel initial resistance before the mouse suddenly skips over. I’m able to move the mouse freely, but still enough friction to stop due to the high dynamic friction when I need to.

Now, because the Endgame Gear EM-C is such a thin pad, there’s not a lot of room for the mouse to sink in for that extra control or stopping power. You’ll often have to apply a bit more pressure on the mouse to gain more stopping power. If you’re light-handed, you’ll get a smoother glide. But when you need that extra stopping power, pressing down a bit gives you that controlled, locked-in feel.

For me, I’ve been able to pinpoint exactly where I want the mouse to stop and have had no issues at all, which is why its been my main for the past year. Micro-corrections feel natural and I never had any issues with tracking or overshooting. It just works. Its just a very balanced mousepad all around.

Value for Money

When it comes to price, the EM-C leans a little toward the higher range. It retails at $49.99 for the large size and $53.99 for x-large. At that price, we need to take a look at what we’re getting here.

What you get is a well-built control mousepad with solid quality all around. Yeah, it feels a bit thin, but has it held up over the past year? Absolutely! It’s still going strong, and I don’t see it breaking down anytime soon.

So yeah, I’d say it’s worth the $50 price tag. You’re getting a high-quality, durable, and well-balanced mousepad that delivers on performance and holds up over time, assuming you take good care of it.

Final Verdict

Overall, I do think that the Endgame Gear EM-C is one of those pads that doesn’t try to do anything crazy and that’s exactly why it works so well. It offers a balanced, control surface with a Poron base, and low-profile stitching that stays out of your way. It offers consistent gliding and has held up nicely, even after a year of daily use.

If you’re okay with the thinner profile and want something that’s balanced all around and built to last, this one’s a safe bet!
